Who I Am
Hi, I’m Lisa, the creator of Crayon Canyon, a website full of printable kids crafts, classroom décor, and creative activities made to help teachers and parents make learning fun and colorful.
My Background in Print and Design
Before starting Crayon Canyon, I spent ten years working in a professional print production environment. My work involved preparing client files, designing and setting up layouts for print, proofing materials, running full print jobs, and handling finishing processes like trimming and lamination. I also provided technical support for the office’s computer systems on top of it all! That experience gave me a strong understanding of color, print quality, and how to create materials that print cleanly and consistently. These skills now shape every printable resource I create for teachers and parents.
Experience Creating Digital Resources
You might already know my work from my shops JournalsWithDragons on Etsy and JournalsWithDragons on Teachers Pay Teachers. These stores share the same creative foundation as Crayon Canyon, and everything across all platforms is designed by me.
I bring several years of experience creating digital resources for online marketplaces. On Etsy, I have 4 years of experience with more than 15k reviews, an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars, and over 12k sales. I also currently maintain Star Seller status. On Teachers Pay Teachers, I have one year of experience creating educational printables. Working directly with customers on these platforms has helped me understand what makes resources easy to use, clear to print, and genuinely helpful in real classrooms and homes.
I don’t have a formal teaching background, but my printables are used and reviewed by real teachers and parents who have shared amazing feedback on how they use them in classrooms and at home. Their reviews, feedback, and experiences inspire me to keep improving and creating new resources that work in real learning spaces.
I also provide occasional 1:1 volunteer English lessons for upper-elementary children, creating custom practice materials to support speaking skills and exam preparation.
